Peter Dworjanyn Elected Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel
Peter Dworjanyn, Senior Counsel in Teague Campbell’s Insurance Coverage Services Group, has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC).
The ACCC admits as Fellows practicing lawyers who are distinguished for their skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of insurance coverage and extracontractual law, and who are dedicated to excellence in this area of practice. Nominees are evaluated by the ACCC’s Membership Committee based on prominence in the field and commitment to professionalism, scholarship, and civility within the bar.
Based in Columbia, South Carolina, Pete has devoted more than twenty years to insurance coverage analysis and related litigation. His practice focuses on a broad range of coverage matters, including General Liability, Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Excess and Primary coverage, Property, Life, Disability, Occupational Accident, and Commercial Auto and Trucking policies, as well as claims involving allegations of bad faith.
Pete appears in state and federal courts in coverage litigation and routinely represents insurers in mediations. He also serves as monitoring counsel, evaluating issues of covered damages in matters defended under a reservation of rights. His experience includes drafting and revising insurance policy forms and assisting the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund with underwriting and legislative issues. Pete approaches coverage matters with a focus on proactive strategy and an understanding of client objectives beyond the legal implications of a single case.
In addition to his practice, Pete serves on the DRI Insurance Law Committee and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Bad Faith Committee. He also volunteers his time mentoring future legal professionals as a Moot Court Coach and Judge at the high school and middle school levels.
ACCC nominees are required to have at least 15 years of substantial experience in insurance coverage or extracontractual law, typically devoting a significant portion of their practice to these areas, and must be nominated by a current Fellow who is not a member of the nominee’s law firm. Pete’s election reflects his long‑standing focus on insurance coverage practice and his professional standing in this field.
