Sean Bernstein brings a dynamic blend of legal insight and leadership experience to his practice at the firm. A native of Syracuse, New York, Sean earned his B.S. in Mass Communications and Philosophy from SUNY Oneonta, where he was a standout athlete, capturing three Division III National Championship titles and earning seven All-American honors in track and field. He later completed his M.S. in Mass Communications at San Jose State University before earning his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2025.

While at W&L Law, Sean served as a student caseworker in the Advanced Administrative Litigation Clinic (“Black Lung Clinic”), gaining hands-on experience in complex administrative proceedings. He was honored with the Administrative Law Award and completed a 1L summer internship with the North Carolina Department of Justice, supporting Services to State Agencies.

Sean is licensed in North Carolina and his practice focuses on litigation and general liability matters.

Before law school, Sean spent eight years coaching Division I track and field athletes at San Jose State University and Virginia Military Institute, mentoring sprinters, hurdlers, and relay teams. His coaching career reflects his commitment to discipline, strategy, and personal development—qualities he now brings to his legal work.

Sean lives in Raleigh with his wife, Jennifer, their two children, and their yellow lab, Maggie. Outside of the office, he enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors with his family, and cheering on track and field events. He is a proud 2025 inductee into the SUNY Oneonta Hall of Fame.
