Jason Shoemaker focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation defense, serving clients with a blend of legal expertise and industry leadership. A magna cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. Jason was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for academic excellence. He continued his education at Wake Forest University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2003.

During law school, Jason served as Research Editor for the Wake Forest Law Review, including publishing a Note in the Law Review. He also served as member of Moot Court.

Professionally, Jason is a member of the NCBA Workers’ Compensation Section. He is an active member of the Gaston County, North Carolina, and American Bar Associations. Jason regularly attends industry conferences to remain current on the latest trends in workers’ compensation.

In addition to his legal practice, Jason is involved in his community. He serves on the Board of Holy Angels, and his past leadership roles include Chair of the United Way of Gaston County, Chair of Gaston Together, past president of the Gaston County Jaycees, and legal counsel for the North Carolina Jaycees.

He approaches his practice with a passion for human connection within the legal system. Outside of work, he cherishes time with his family and enjoys supporting Wake Forest University as a proud “Double Deacon.” An advocate for work-life balance, Jason finds relaxation in Disney World, or wherever his family may be.
