Jacob attended the University of North Carolina, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law. While at Wake Forest, Jacob was a member of the Moot Court Board and Joseph Branch Inn of Court. He received both the 2001 NCATL Most Outstanding Advocate Award and the CALI Award and, upon graduation, was selected for membership in the Order of the Coif, a national honorary scholastic society for excellence in legal education.
Jacob’s practice includes general tort liability defense, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, and workers’ compensation. He is also a certified mediator for all Superior Courts in North Carolina. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and is admitted to appear before all North Carolina courts and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Jacob has also been recognized as a “Rising Star” by his peers in the 2011 North Carolina Edition of Super Lawyers and has earned the highest (AV-Rated) ranking awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.
