Attorney Debra Bechtel Receives Distinguished Service Award
The NC Association of County Attorneys presented Debra Bechtel with a Distinguished Service Award during their annual summer conference for her work on the NC Opioid Allocation Agreement. Debra serves on the 5-5-5 committee; a special NCACC committee consisting of 5 county attorneys, 5 county managers, and 5 county commissioners, appointed to work with the DOJ to develop the Memorandum of Agreement for all NC counties and municipalities that directs substantial resources to local governments on the front lines of the opioid epidemic. The Agreement that Debra helped to draft is one of the best allocation agreements in the country to date, directing 85% of resources to NC counties, whereas counties in other states are only getting 15% on average. Join us in congratulating Debra!
