Kandis Coleman is a Law Clerk with Teague Campbell’s Workers’ Compensation practice group in the firm’s Charlotte Metro office. A Charlotte native and first-generation legal professional, Kandis brings a diverse background in human resources, employee relations, dispute resolution, compliance, and criminal justice to her legal work.
Kandis earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law and holds a Master of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During law school, she served in leadership roles, earned multiple academic honors, and gained practical legal experience through internships with the North Carolina Department of Justice, the Supreme Court of Ohio, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and a private law firm.
Prior to law school, Kandis worked in employee relations, human resources, and workplace compliance, including positions with Bank of America and Lowe’s. Her professional experience provided firsthand insight into workplace operations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and employee claims, which sparked her interest in workers’ compensation law.
Kandis was drawn to the legal profession by a desire to help individuals and organizations navigate complex challenges through thoughtful advocacy and practical solutions. She is particularly interested in workers’ compensation because it combines legal analysis, workplace systems, and problem-solving to address issues affecting both employees and employers.
Outside of work, Kandis enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, writing, and community service initiatives that support individuals and families in need. A self-proclaimed juicing enthusiast, Kandis loves creating fresh juices from fruits and vegetables and is always looking for her next great recipe.
