Growing up in a law enforcement family, Patrick knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career serving his community. After earning a Criminal Justice degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Patrick spent 2.5 years working as a patrol deputy for the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office. A move to the Triangle precipitated his transition to the Wake Forest Police Department where he joined the investigative division and was exposed to incidents ranging from use of force to larceny to homicide. These experiences inspired him to attend law school at Campbell University. While pursuing his Juris Doctor degree, Patrick participated in Teague Campbell’s Summer Associate Program, interned for the Wake County District Attorney’s Office and for the Honorable Judge Tyson at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and also served as Secretary for the Federal Bar Association.
Patrick brings a unique skill set to his municipal and liability practice. He has a different perspective on the law and rules of court, allowing him to spot issues earlier and address them ahead of time. Patrick prides himself on his organization, work ethic and ability to ask the right questions. He is eager to apply the knowledge acquired during his law enforcement career and hopes to serve local government officials in a new capacity.
A native of North Carolina, Patrick grew up on the coast and has deep family ties to the area of over 200 years. He still enjoys visiting the southern beaches of North Carolina and spending time with family in the area. Patrick enjoys being outside and loves hiking at National and State Parks. Patrick also serves his church in various capacities and enjoys running and competing in triathlons.
