From sailing on Lake Michigan to dancing for a cause in Illinois, Leo is now happy to call North Carolina home. Leo’s undergraduate years were spent in Illinois at Northwestern University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and completed thirty hour dance marathons to raise money and awareness for children with epilepsy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He went on to attend Duke University School of Law where he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree in 2020 and also led a league bowling team to championship.

During his tenure at Duke, Leo took courses in subject matters ranging from pre-trial practice to remedies. He also learned firsthand about judicial decision making when he interned for a federal judge at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York during the summer of his first year. During his third year at Duke, Leo spent a semester in the nation’s capital where he worked on anti-corruption compliance with the World Bank Group. Leo also served as the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association at Duke and enjoys building connections with judges and attorneys throughout the country.

Leo grew up as the only child of two engineers who instilled in him a love of learning and an appreciation for rules and structure. Leo found his strengths in analysis, critical thinking and solution-oriented creativity which led him down the path to law school. He is collaborative and enjoys being part of a team that works together to come up with the best solution for each client. Leo’s experience as a summer associate at Teague Campbell provided him with a practical understanding of how he could use those skills to thrive in civil litigation.

In addition to his work in insurance coverage and civil defense tactics, Leo enjoys learning about different cultures. He speaks fluent Mandarin and can usually be found reading a historical novel or biography. Since moving to North Carolina he has also taken up the game of golf and become a steadfast Blue Devils fan. When he’s not in the office, Leo enjoys good food and being outdoors and has a specific affinity for the mountains of North Carolina and southern barbeque.
