Scott graduated magna cum laude, earning double Bachelor’s degrees in History and Philosophy.  While at Principia College, Scott maintained a four year academic scholarship and filled leadership roles in the varsity sports of football, basketball, and track. Scott was also the recipient of the Charles F. Buckwalter award for highest four year academic achievement by a varsity athlete.  Scott attended law school at the University of North Carolina, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006, with a break in his legal education from the fall of 2003 to early 2005 to serve the United States Army in Iraq.  While serving in Iraq Scott was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal as well as Company, Brigade, and Division level Coins issued for meritorious effort and service. During law school, Scott was a member of the International Moot Court competition team.

Scott was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2006, initially practicing in the areas of workers’ compensation and auto-liability defense. Scott current practice focuses exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation defense. Prior to being admitted to the firm in 2014, Scott worked as the managing attorney for the branch offices of another multistate defense firm with oversight to over 200 active workers’ compensation files tried at all levels of the North Carolina Industrial Commission.  Scott is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.

Scott is a frequent lecturer who enjoys speaking to clients on a number of continuing education topics including Attorney and Carrier/Adjuster Ethics, the National Flood Insurance Program, Communications with Medical Providers; and Annual Case Law Updates for Workers’ Compensation.
