Brian’s practice involves civil litigation and insurance coverage issues. He has appeared on behalf of clients in North Carolina’s state and federal courts, the North Carolina Industrial Commission and has appeared before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Brian’s civil litigation practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of complex construction defect claims, products liability and general tort liability. Brian has also provided coverage opinions, prosecuted and defended declaratory judgment actions and has provided legal advice on the creation and modification of coverage documents for insurers.

Brian graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. He then received his Juris Doctor degree from the Campbell University School of Law, graduating cum laude.

While in law school, Brian served as both a staff writer and the Chief Comments Editor of the Campbell Law Review. Additionally, he worked as a Research Associate to Professor Richard A. Lord in preparing the Fourth Edition of Williston on Contracts, and served as a Teaching Assistant in contract law. Brian was also a member of Campbell’s Old Kivett Advocacy Council.

Brian is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Armadillo Club.
